Shana Harvey draws from an eclectic music and theater background to present songs that are amusing and interactive. She teaches and performs traditional and original children's music across Chicago-land and has performed regularly at Chicago Children’s Museum, Millennium Park, and Old Town School of Folk Music. Shana owes her involvement in music education to Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music, where she has taught Wiggleworms and children's theater for the past five years. In January of 2008, Shana co-created and performed Singing Our Stories as part of Old Town School’s Field Trip series. Her Spanish Children’s music is featured on Wiggleworms Love You, a compilation of Wiggleworm’s hits. Shana’s interest in Latin American music and culture has taken her to Costa Rica and Guatemala, where she studied Spanish and taught language arts and music in rural schools. She is a frequent and enthusiastic member of Old Town School’s Mariachi Ensemble, and enjoys incorporating traditional Latin American folk music into her bilingual music classes and performances. Shana grew up in Wisconsin and studied music and theater at Brown University, in New York City, and in Chicago. She is currently recording her first full-length children’s music CD.
